ART-Tech diamond 600 conversion

.Just flown my Diamond 600 after converting it to electrics. 9 gram motor, 2 3.7 gram servos, 6 amp esc with bec and a 300mah li-po. Flies great. Not as fast as the little Mulitplex Fox but more sedately. I have uploaded photos to show how I did it. No doubt there are many other ways but I just liked this way. All thats needed is a sharp knife, a router/sander tip on your Dremel and some epoxy. Oh, It has 4.1 * 4.1 prop but a 4.5*4.5 might produce a better rate of climb. Which right now is good but not a rocket. I rewound the motor in my Fox so I'll probably do the same here. Weight without Li-po after modifications 98 grams. Really.

Hi all, I recently joined RCGroups and have just noticed this 'old' forum thread. I previously posted in the thread called 'Art tech diamond 600 EPO glider' without response maybe this is the correct thread?

I have performed a rc conversion of this wonderful airframe, I used 3 servos, 1 in each wing and one in the fin, a 10 gram motor with a GWS5030 prop, 10amp ESC, an orange 2.4GHz RX, and Rhino 360mah Lipo.

The all up weight is just over the 100gram, although I did replace all of the servo wires with enamelled copper wire and soldered these onto the RX to save weight and the space required for the connectors, and I have to say it flies great.

As for the COG, I simply checked where it was before I started the mod and made sure it was in the same place when I had finished.

It does fly very well, 10 minutes duration, quite a sensitive elevator but the roll is not brilliant. Keep it in the car for those opportune moments.

I am away on hols for the next week but when I get back I will post some pics and maybe post a build blog.
