The 3 common JST Connectors - summary

There are a few threads about the confusion surrounding the use of the small white "JST" connectors for servos but the question keeps confusing people.

HobbyKing and most Chinese vendors have caused most of it by referring to the very common Molex 1.25mm pitch connector used on Futaba, FrSky, FlyDream, HobbyKing servos and others as a "JST" connector when it is not.

In addition HobbyKing use the same wiring convention for all three when in fact it is only correct for the Molex 1.25mm Picoblade.

Note that wire colours may follow either the Futaba or the JR convention so that the orange wire (signal) may be white and the brown (-ve) wire may be black but the red wire (+ve) is always red.

This picture summarises what I know about these three small connectors. Feel free to add or correct to this.

jj604,

Thanks for this. This thread and your other on a similar topic should be a Sticky.
