Most I've seen fly on 10 cells and I know of one the flies on 8 cells. If your motor and esc can handle 8 or 10 cells you might consider that option. The 10 cell option would probably require a high voltage (HV) esc. My 12 cell Rascal only pulls 65A.
Hi Skyjet,

Thanks for all the great information on the rascal. I fly exclusively electric and lately the Rascal 110 has caught my attention. I plan to start putting one together soon. With your 12s 5000 setup what flight time are you getting?

I have my timer set for 7 minutes for mixed flying. I'm sure 10 minutes for light flying would be fine. 7 minutes is conservative. I still have 30% left after the flight. The latest arfs can be set up without the conversion, but I have not seen one yet.

I also fly on 12S 5000's. I am getting 3500 watts and can hover easily. I have my timer set for 11 minutes.

11 minutes is very good. I'd probably be tire by then anyway.

I see from the manual that SIG recommends putting the batteries in through the windows, but I do like the conversion that Skyjet did. I may go that way - have to get my kit to see what looks best.

I'm selling some glow and electric motors now to scrape up the $$ to buy my kit

Way more flights that you could do in a day. I run 2 1100mah packs and have never come close to running them down. I imagine a 3000mah pack would give you 10 flights.

Can anyone tell me what is a max prop size for flying off grass? 18" seems to be a popular size. I have a motor that would run well with an 18 - 19" i am building for about 3300 to 3500 Watts
