Ok, so my Naza Y6 was grounded due to a bad Plush 12A ESC.

But I remembered that I had a Castle Phoenix 25A somewhere to be tested.
Well, I programmed it with the special CC multikopter software and replaced the bad Plush12 A with this CC 25A Phoenix, question is, will the Y6 work with 5x Plush 12A and one CC 25A?

And the answer is a big YES!

Had some small problems first with programming the end points of the CC ESC but have just had a great test flight in my garden without problems.

The Phoenix 25 has fixed endpoints and Chinese ESC’s have programmable end points so you have to calibrate all the Chinese ESC’s so that they match the Phoenix 25. I found that the internal throttle curve is a little different after I upgraded my quad to all Phoenix 25 ESC’s so your board will have to be smart enough to account for that.

Good to see that it works but I would suggest that your long term plan should be to upgrade to all CC ESC’s. Since I made that upgrade I have never had any more ESC problems even on the very hot days that we are having this summer.

Yes, I did exactly that, matched each of the Plush's endpoint to the CC 25.

This was just for testing purpose, waiting for my 6x simonk 25A and not a long term solution. I will buy more of these CC25A for another multi later on to see how they compare to the simonk's.

Great fun (and a bit nervous) to watch it start up and take off .......

After reading so many treads I realy do not now what is a good or best esc.
I have 6 axi 2217/20. Axi advise a 18 amp (60 sec) esc.
My FC is a DJI Naza
4s lipp
But what is a good choise?

It's the end of October and I have a Quad with ICE LITE 50's and an
Octo with ICE 50's ready for test flights. Have the issues with these
ESC's been corrected?

I am still flying my 50 lites on my 550 Flamewheel... I am using the DJI stock motors with Graupner 10-5 props... it runs great and it is very smooth...

that Castle has been working on this Multi-rotor situation and now has a new
4.2 Beta firmware update that has addressed the issues referred to in this thread.

So, give it to them with vigor! (say Hi to Steve, Joey and the Crew!)

Go with the Phoenix 25's I have been running them for some time now with Avroto's on 4s and they are superb!!

How do I know this, you ask? I have been going crazy for the last 10 days trying to figure out
(yes, I have bugged all of you Guys on just about every MRC thread) how to get my AeroXcraft
Quad 670, with Castle ICE LITE 50 ESC, to get off the ground without becoming the Tasmanian Devil
(it twirrled and flipped like crazy at each of 8 attempts during the past 10 days).

Today was my final shot at it before I took a shotgun to it and went to re-program
the ESC's and saw the new 4.2 firmware. I loaded each ESC, put the Quad back
together, set my starting values on the NAZA assistant at;

165 pitch 165 roll 130 Yaw 130 vertical (I got these start values from one of your posts)
200 and 200 attitude

and then just went for broke! I gotta tell you that this giagantic pain in my butt, just
popped up off the ground, and just hung there in the air at about 10 feet steady
as a ROCK! I almost fell over and dropped my DX18, but a patio chair caught
my fall. I just sat there like a comatose Old Dinosaur (which I am, sometimes)
and was glad that I had done this in GPS mode. So that's my story and now
you Guys are aware that Castle has triumphed again for us. Now the ICE series,
as well as the Phoenix 25's, are good to go for any MRC!

So was/is this so called problem specifically related to the ICE controllers??? I have been using the PH-25's for quite some time on 4.1 and all has been fantastic.

Your atittude values seem freaky high Heck I run 90-90 atitude with my basic gains at 130 and it is solid as a rock. 200 seems awful high.

Mike, evidently this issue was only with the CC ICE ESC's. I have also used the Phoenix 25's
with no issues as long as they are put into the Multi-rotor mode with the Castle Link which was
firmware 4.1 Beta. Once I upgraded my ICE nd ICE LITE ESC's to 4.2 Beta, they worked flawlessly!

My AeroXcraft Quad 670 flies steady with the attitude gains at 200 and maybe it's
because my Quad is a little on the heavy side.
