Hi Degreen60,

I'd suggest having the maiden from 55mm, relocate it per your preference after maiden.

The GWS F4U passed the crash test with flying colors. Soon after launch it loop up, rolled over on its back and I tried but could not control the plane. I cut power and just before it hit a tree. Damage not too bad. I have it ready for next test. I have added 3oz of weight to the nose.

It will really have to be a great flyer then. I have a Seafire(GWS Spitfire) and it flies great. I got some GWS wings in a lot I bought. I made fuselages for the Zero and 109. Both of them fly really good. I think the shape of the airfoil in GWS wings make the planes good fliers. I have another Zero wing and was looking at WWII Japaneses planes that use almost the same wing then I happen to notice the Hellcat wing is the same except for the tips. I have always wanted a Hellcat. Now I know what fuselage I will build for the wing.

HI GWS Chen. I don't know if you remember me - but then it was a number of years ago! Firstly How are you?
I'm back into modelling again after three or more years and am currently refurbishing / repairing my 'Early Birds' AT-6 - not only am I a bit older but also my flying skills seem to have declined. For your info, I still have a partially completed P-40 (Also an earlybirds model) which I will start soon.
Who is selling GWS in the UK these days?
Cheers - Ratty

Hi Ratty,

Yes, I still remember you. It's been a very long time since last time we chatted.
Yes, I'm fine, hope you and yours are fine, too. Ha Ha, I'm a bit older too.

A gentleman, Gordon, from Scotland who imported many GWS kits last year. This is the thread that he started regarding the kits he took, http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2084357

Let me know when you get your AT-6 and P-40 in the air.

All the best,

Chen

I just found this thread but my question is will GWS come out with anything new and maybe different from the rest of the bunch?
say maybe a HO-229? or HE-162...or DO-335!!! :-)
HE-111 or even a redesigned ME-262.
B-58 Hustler using those 50mm 11 bladed fans :-)

Hi Turbobearcat,

Sorry, these have not been yet listed on the list that are being discussed.

The F4U flunked a couple more crash test so I finished it and it is now ready to fly.

How about a German BV-141 for something different.

I would like my favorite plane of all time an F6F.

My next build is the GWS P-38, my second favorite plane.

Degreen60, the Corsair will fly with a 55mm cg but better with a 50mm and under cg. You do not need ballast weight, you need a motor and 4s plus power

LOL, I can only guess how fast and hard I would crash into something on 4s. I like slow and easy to fly. I fly most of my planes on 2s at about half throttle. The F4U has plenty of speed for me on 2s.

I bought a Hotwheels radar gun at a flea market for $1. It showed my GWS SS-F at 12 MPH into the wind and 18 MPH downwind. Need to use it to measure the speed of my GWS warplanes.
