I actually used a Dremel cutting disc to grind a perfect cut around the shaft and used the c-ring there.

I'm thinking about pulling the whole shaft out and reversing it and then I shouldn't need a collar????

I think that's the best way so far.

I know. I'm taking mine out later this morning for a little more fun myself.

ASAP and you'll be glad you did. Only problem I had was wiping the smile off my face after each flight. Big Grins all around when the Kunai flies.

Just a quick build-note: I was flying my Kunai a weekend ago, and was surprised to see something pop off and tumble to the ground. I immediate chopped throttle and glided in for a landing... no problems. It turned out to be the stock spinner/prop assembly that popped off of the motor shaft -- the grub screws that pinch the shaft had come loose. Not something I had thought to check, during the build, because it was factory attached.

If you are using the stock spinner/prop assembly, unscrew the spinner and double-check those grub screws.

I took my spinner off last night after 20 flights on my #2. The grub screws were still holding but not as tight as they had been. Might want to file a flat and use locktite.

Probably a dozen flights on mine, by the time this happened.

You know, I was more than a little surprised the shaft didn't have a flat-landing for the grub screws. Your right, time to break out the dremel.

Hmm my Kunai didn't ship with the prop adapter or spinner on the shaft. It's installed towards the end of the manual. I'll be sure to check for a flat spot and dremel one on if needed.

Both of my stock motors have smooth shafts and came with their spinners disassembled in a bag.

Uh-oh... my memory may be faulty, then. Certainly no intention of bad-mouthing Great Planes -- I love my Kunai. Either way... those grub screws came loose after a dozen flights, and it's worth checking.

Well I found a collar and have motor installed. Still really concerned about the wires rubbing. I hate to have a zip tie in there but I guess I may have to do it.

Just align the motor screws so the wires are on the side behind a scoop.
