Plans

Hi DiscusDan:

I kit the 1/4 and 1/3 scale ship. Somewhere in my archives I have a set of full scale plans that I used to design the model. This time of the year is really hectic (good way!) for me. Send an email, if you have no other offers and I'll start looking.

If you just want a picture of the full scale ship? Google or YAHOO will bring up several dozen full scale ships in various paint schemes.

I am assuming you want a pic of a full scale plan?
Cheers
Jim

Thanks for answering Jim.
Yes I need to see the wing and tail plan as I already have the fuse.I searched the
net ,saw a lot of things but nothing concerning what I asked.
Since I'm going 1/2 scale I want to build like the full size...no balsa for me !
You can see some of my constructions in our web site forum
www.quebecaerotowassociation.com.
Thanks
Daniel

I already have these. As I draw my own plan for that size,I have most measurements now.
What I was looking for was the same style of a copy but for the wing and stab/elev units.
To reproduce as much as possible the full size construction.
6.5m is a nice size for sure.
Thanks
Daniel

There is currently a full scale Duster project for sale as listed on Barnstormers.com. Go to gliders- sailplanes section the click on 'current gliders for sale' or some such. Not a bad deal for $750 plus you have all the data you need!

From another thread please recall that I got the OK and info from Bengt Jansson
to draw up a set of plans from his original plans. Ben is the original designer.

From his docs I worked in CAD and used the dimensions on the plans.
The plans had "creeped" a bit over the years so they were NOT accurate any longer.
Paper is NOT dimensionally stable as I hope MOST of you already know.

Then Andy Smith from AU got involved and He and I agreed on a 5 meter version so as to avoid
stepping on another 1/3 scale version that is out there just now.

At that time and due of my pending plans to move 2400 miles I did not want to start a big, messy build.

So he headed off , full steam and got the ball rolling.
Unfortunately LIFE got in his way and things havent restarted just yet.
this is where Andy was reporting his progress
http://www.rcplans.com.au/index.php?...144&Itemid=192

Meanwhile I incorporated Andy's ideas into the plans.
Mainly the new scale, a change in Wing incidence and Andys built up ply lamination
idea for Spars.
My wing design plan was per the Original using metal wing connections with bolts.

On a whim and from frustration due to NOT being able to get started myself
I had a set of parts laser cut.

Next a fellow contacted me and wanted to purchase the Laser parts so he could build one.
I sold them for what I paid the Laser cutter.
No word back on his progress or whether he liked the design.

One of the original Duster Team members putting out a
NO MORE PLANS and NO MORE INFO distributions edict, for liability reasons I suspect.

I further suspect that there are folks attempting to gain more Duster Info
via the RC modeling channels in hopes of building a Full Sized bird for themselves.
There was a Full sized insurgence and web site a couple yrs back but it too
was Squashed for legal and liability reasons. So info is hard to come by
without actually purchasing an old unfinished "project plane" from one of the
original plans purchasers.

I have NOW finally moved into a new home in Indiana BUT !!!
I have no shop. Next Spring my son and I will be putting up a Wood/Model shop
and a metal working shop next to each other. He is a Pumpkin Chunker.

I'll be restarting the project some time after that.

Here is a pic of Ben and a raster of some of my work.

Hi Bob
I do not understand your posting but to be clear...

1-I draw my own plans...maybe not 100% scale
2-For my own use only.
3-I do not intend to sell plans or kits of my building
4-For me and my wife to fly.
5-I sold my full size glider long ago as I'M more interested in models

I hope to clear the situation here.
Thank you very much to all who helps in documentation
Daniel
