Using 2.4GHz on both radio transmitter and fpv videolink?

Hi,

I have heard that some people dare to use the same frequencies on their radio and videotx. Fiddling with finding a channel that doesnt interfer....

Even though i think its a bad idea its a bit interesting if it works since i cant use 900MHz in Sweden. I was planning to use a videolink using 1.3GHz but i havent that many videolinks to choose from.

Anyone out there using 2.4GHz frequency on transmitter and videolink??

Regards,
/Z

Is 5.8 a option in your area?

I friend of mine, owner of an RC shop, told me the other day he has a customer flying FPV with 2,4 both in the video and rc, and he told me he went to 3km, hard to beliver but I can´t doubt about his word (he has never give me a reason to doubt)

It had to be with Futaba FASST, he tried earlier with Spektrum but couldn´t

Have you some experience using such a system??

Im a lil interested in HK's 5.8GHz 200mW 8ch FPV Video Tx/Rx Module
even though its only a 200mW

The review at http://fpv-community.com/testblog/20...-5g8-200mw-fpv didnt make me less interested

You can use 2.4 video along with 2.4 for rc control. My futaba fasst will do it, but I wouldnt trust it. You are asking for trouble. There are some many options out there, why risk it? Think of your receiver in your plane trying to listen to your rc transmitter, while your video tx is yelling in its ear the whole time. As the plane gets further away, the planes receiver is going to have a harder time hearing the rc transmitter.

Make sense?

If they're using FASST for control, then they would have to be using 2.5Ghz for video,
because FASST steps on the whole legal 2.4Ghz band constantly. I know folks around here
like to pretend that 2.5Ghz (lawmate ch8) is really 2.4Ghz though, which just confuses people.

Really? I have a Futaba FASST system and after I moved a few feet away from my rig in 'range check mode' I'd lose signal. The only time I could perform an acceptable range check was when I separated the video TX from the RC RX by about 20'.

If I can't perform a safe range check on the ground at a fraction of the power.. I'm sure as not sending $600 worth of equipment into the air on full power.

Im not going to use same freq on radio and video. I reacted on the fact that some people keep saying its possible. I rather kill the myth
