Im ordering a Uzi XXL and need help on motor selection from one of you guru's The link to the plane is http://www.hobby-lobby.com/uzixxl.htm. I have a couple hacker 20-20l's and a HiMaxx HC2816-0890. I want close to 2 to 1. Will these motors come close? Or maybe get a bigger axi or one of the hacker A30's? Ill be using TP 2100's gen2's. Any help appreciated......

You'll need a 200 watt motor for the XXL. The POT200 (Potensky) motor is recommended by Hobby-Lobby. You could also go with the Cem200 (Python).
I like the Potensky motor better because it draws fewer amps. Meaning you could use an 18 amp esc vice a 25-35 amp with the python. Your plane will have an all up weight of about 25-28oz.

My Uzi XXL flew well with the Python, but my battery was a piece of crap. I just got my Potensky in the mail and I'm going to try it in the Uzi tomorrow with a TP battery pack. I could let you know how it went if you like. I'm not a Guru so I can't give any advice on the Hackers. I can only talk about what I use.

However, I think an Axi 2808 would fly the plane just as well. BTW, the Python hovered the plane at 1/2 throttle. And that was with the cheap Magnum battery from NeSail.

I fly mine on a an Axi 2814/12 with Jeti 30A ESC and it has plenty of power. I use Tanic 3s 2200's. AUW is 26.5 oz.

I'm sorry strat, I decided to stay with the Python motor. I have a Scorpio Spitfire laying around. I think I'm going to drop the Potensky motor in it. I'd suggest the Potensky because it's cheaper and draws less amps. Before I stripped the shaft on the Potensky, I had a chance to static test the motor on the plane. It seemed to have plenty of power.

If money is no object, go with the Python or Axi. You will never go wrong with an Axi.The great thing about buying a motor from Hobby-Lobby, is if you kill the motor, they will replace it at half price. I killed an Axi, and my Potensky in the same weekend. I sent them back to Hobby-Lobby and they called for billing info. I recvd the motors in a week. Not too shabby.

I just put the Hacker A30-M in my UZI XXL yesterday along with the Hacker X-30 speed controller. Plane weighs in at about 26oz. I'm using Kokam 3 cell 2000mah 15c lipos. At full throttle with an 11 x 4.7 it pulled about 25 amps coming out to about 143 Watts. Test flight resulted in phenominal performance! I wish I could 3D better (I'm working on it) but it would go vertical at just a tad more than half throttle. I flew it pretty hard for a little over 15 minutes and the motor was only warm. The battery pack was a little warmer than I'd like but still acceptable. I may try a 10 x 4.7 and see how that works.

One thing I like about using the Hacker motor and speed controller is that you can program many settings on the speed controller: Brake, timing, low-voltage cutoff, and even reverse spin to name a few. I'm very happy with this setup and I'd readily reccomend it.

How did it balance? Did you have to add weight to the tail with that motor?
I want to use a lighter motor but, not if I have to add weight to the nose.

At that weight a Park 480 would power it nicely.

I use a Turnigy 35-36 and it seems just the right size.
