[QUOTE=MicroRotors;19409615]Let's see, ... There is already a "Rebels" close by and who is making Fat Fuses?

Go High end, ...

PVB, ... Palos Verdes Bluffinators
PVS, ... Palos Verdes Slopers
PVFF, ... Palos Verdes Flying Fish
PVES, ... Palos Verdes Estate Flyers
PVCF, ... Palos Verdes Coastal Flyers
Bill[/QUOTE

Thanks for the input but speaking for myself there's always room for more slope "rebels". And I would replace Bluff Cove where you have Palos Verdes to emphasize the "spot" not the city, but this is just me. So...

Bluff Cove Slopers - BCS
Bluff Cove Coastal Flyers - BCCF

Let's see some more...

Hmmm.. Well, now that I see the question that way, it looks like I may have misunderstood the Bill's original post. The way I read it was that there is already a "rebels" close by and they are already making fat fuses, so we should not be using any of those things in the name for our group. I guess that is the bad thing about the internet, things don't always come out right or don't always get read right. In any case, apologies to Bill for the misinterpretation. I'll go back and delete my post.

You guys left today about 15 minutes too soon
We had a TA6 pay us a visit
His first pass he came in from the point on the left, at cliff level, pulled slightly higher as he got to us an then he did a knife edge turn over our heads, went back to the point again and turned back to us, this time with more altitude.
When he was in the bowl behind us he turn towards us pulling in to a dive, turned on his smoke, and as he passed us he pulled up and did a slow left roll.
It was like having our own airshow!
I am guessing the folks in the plane know we fly there and if you read this thread, thanks for the show!!
We flew about another 30 minutes and called it a day as the lift was dying down.
What a great afternoon!
Very nice meeting you all and look forward to next time!

It was cool to see (now I know it was) Pete give us a little show. I landed between the 1st and 2nd pass so I could watch. It was pretty amazing how sharply the lift dropped off just after you guys left. I guess there really wasn't that much wind, so when it dropped a little the lift just dropped away.
It was great great meeting you guys. I look forward to flying there again.

Russ,

Yeah, ... you had my post really, really wrong, ... but, ... No worries here!

About the "Fat Fuses", ... I was just pointing out the fact that by naming a club and having the phrase "Fat Fuse" in the name, ... would lead to people thinking the club builds nothing but monster planes with Fat Fuses. It had nothing to do with what I or anyone else builds, ... in fact, ... My biggest wish, is that more and more people start building them bigger and WAY more detailed, ...

As far as Rebels, ... Yes I agree that everyone should be a Rebel, ... but you have a chance to come up with something unique and special to your site, .... why strap a used name on it(?), ... that's all. I flew the Bluff and Lanada Bay when I was in my teens/early 20's and To me, ... (just my opinion) I think you guy's could come up with something a lot better than rebels and could fit the site much better, ... really, ... what are you rebelling about, ... beautiful sunsets and coastal views, or natural air conditioner that you fly into?

Certainly you guy's can name it anything you choose, ... It's a free country, ... well for the moment it is.

BTW, ... I got your PM, ... Thank You.

Bill

I've got it! How about CSC - Coastal Slope Contents (Sort of the antonym of Inland Slope Rebels)

I like it, ... OR, ... you could just call it.

LMF'ers = Lucky Mother F'ers (you know the rest)

I wasn't in ISR when the name came about, ... but to me, ... The "Rebels" in ISR could have been that they (original founders) rebelled against the nice places along the coast to fly and settled on flying in the HOT, rocky, cactus infested, fire plagued, rattle snake hording flying spot, ... but I could be wrong, ... BUT, ... That's how I see it, ... plus, it's were we live and it's close by to fly!

That's my story, ... and I'm sticking to it!

Now if we were in Maui like Mr Courtice, then we'd have to call ourselves the Maui Slope "We have big wind 300 days a year" Biatches.

How about the SLOOW Guys (SLope Only On Weekends Guys).

Sorry, I'm just jealous I can't fly there during the work week. Much closer to work than home.

I like the thinking! How 'bout:

BFC - Bluff Freaking Cove
BCA - Bluff Cove Amigo's
BOAD - Bluff Off And Die (for Russ and Ian, but still a little dark)
