Do we know for sure this is a Chinese or Indian turbine? I found a manufaturer in china of turbines that just showed up in the past month. They have three: 6KG, 10KG, and 12KG.... No prices yet...

Chinese turbines.. it would be interesting to know their pricing. but i can imagine how much of a headach they will be to get right. only a few chinse companies managed to make the simple 2 stroke IC engines(DLE) but the others failed.

now lets see the quality of their turbines which has a smaller fault tolerance plus blade rotating at 240,000 RPM would be really dangerous if not balanced right.

None of the four shown look like Jetjoes but they also do a 20kg one which is identical to the external appearance of a jetjoe.

Yep, those are the ones I saw. I only saw three of them though. Interesting. 2kg. I guess that's for your foamie! lol

BTW, are JetJoe turbines junk, or were you just pointing out that they looked like JetJoe's?

Jetjoes do have a bad reputation but they can now be made to run reliably if you know what you are doing

We can't release the turbine until we have people to service them and we don't have a service network set up yet. The turbines are ready to roll.

did he give us any idea on what size they will be. I hope they will be 45N turbines to fit our 90mm EDF planes from hobbyking

Yes a small turbine would suit the already big range of EDF jets HK sell, but I would'nt expect them to start with a small one as more difficult to get right.

Yep... I agree... a 35~45n engine would be very nice... but they are harder to make.

As far as the comment about the service network... I have a hard time believing that. There are plenty of shops that could service them. The problem is... they want to be paid for real if they are a service center who is doing "Warranty" work... and HK probably don't want to pay the prices.
