ask wizz about his typhoon motor, same as in my Luna, good for 3/4s, for a small speeder, up to large thermal ship like pulsar, but you need props too.

BJ, mine is the Gear Boxed Ammo motor on a 12x8. I flew a 13x8 for a while and it was faster, but eventually burnt the motor. I also run an 80 amp esc and 4s, 2200 zippy compacts. I would not go much more than this set up; at least not stock.

Noob to Hot/Warm liners

I see alot of general motor/esc package comments all thru this site and this thread.

This Siren Hot liner is in my possession and I would greatly appreciate some power package SPECS....to include models numbers and possible links to such.

This seems to be a nice model, and has the ability to perform,,,but need some specs for 3S and 4S power packages.......it's weird, almost like its a secret.....

I have been thru tons of threads all over the net....and have yet to see a Specification by model number for power package components.

A little help folks, cause KontroniK seems to be outta sight price wise and the recommended setup seems to be no longer for sale.

I have 3S and 4S lipos.....please advise

Thank you
Randy

If you want to keep to a reasonable budget, go for the great planes G/B from Tower Hobbies, Part number LXWVT4. $39.99 with the Electrifly Ammo 28-35-3600 KV motor, also Tower Hobbies Part number LXLWY5 $59.99. A 12x8 folder, on 3s or 4s, And on 4s a 12x8 I was around 900+ watts On 3s I run 13x8 I have had no probs so far. To be honest for the price it is great bang for the buck, it is good for unlimited verticals, and a good turn of speed.

Land...inspect... if nothing looks out of place/warped/busted/looking like it wants to let go... repeat the process.

And use your eyes and ears - if that big ole wing really starts to flex when you pull out vertical prop down canopy facing you, you'll soon see if it's stressing too much - the wing should remain fairly flat-ish, and not bow like a Radian foamie...

Biggest area of concern to me is if my wing looks like it's doing too much of the bendy stuff (centre of wing on kneecap and bend the wing a bit to see of there's any tell-tale covering creep/cringes)... and more important in my instance - if the fuze around the wing saddle shows any signs of cracking etc.

If your motor-mount and tail are solid, the wing/saddle area is where most of any perceivable stress is going to show.

IMHO, get out there on your own, and shove this thing through it's paces.

Worst case scenario? It folds/loses the wing. Tuff titties. Easy to say, I know.

But hell man, don't let no plane ever beat you...

BJ
Thanks BJ, i'll take her up a couple of times and increase the dive speed incrementally, watching those wings and listening for any strange noises. Haven't been able to fly again... ok the real reason is i want to buy me another battery so i have the 3 cells and 2 4 cells i can take to the field.. I'm also waiting for a server power supply, that someone so kindly offered me.
