Best Scale Electric Warbirds

I've been flying gas and nitro for years and have now gotten the urge to get into electric planes. Still doing research; but would be interested on any comments regarding whether or not any particular company makes the best/better electric scale ARF warbirds (foam or built up). thanks.

This is not an independant opnion as I am associated with Wowplanes.

We have some excellent scale WWll bombers in our catalog that may interest you. They are builder's kits, not ARFs.

The website is at http://www.wowplanes.com

I like the Hyperion warbirds , lightweight fibreglass fuse's are great for painting and weathering .

You might try looking in the "Electric Warbirds" forum. http://www.rcgroups.com/electric-warbirds-248/

IIRC there are already a couple of similar threads running over there.

For small sized warbirds I'll step in for Alfa model. Out of the box they are quick into the air and look great with same good detail as standard. But at the same time you can really go to town and respray them an extra detail etc. They fly extreamly well too.

Also for even more scale fidelity you could try FSK (Flying Styro Kits). Made from foam as the Alfa's but a little more fragile IMO. Also this are NOT straight out of the box, you'll need a good week or so to get one to the basic air worthly stage. There is a lot more detail in the parts supplied, but it can be very time consuming. If build right and true they too fly well.

Both are on the more expensive side, the FSK more so.

Nice photos, were these posed or actual in - air shots? Have to agree that the Alpha and FSK are very scale, very flyable but very fragile but then one should never build to survive a crash anyway because it isn't possible.

No, these are all 'in air' shots, just had a good lens.

Mike great shots, you guy's always seem to get better light over your side of the pond. Your reviews and photo's of these Alfa's provided much determination on my part to own one.

Stuart.

Stuart - thanks! Light makes a HUGE difference. My Jug pics were a cloudy ucky day - and it shows up.

Ronnie took all the others with his higher dollar stuff, but light makes a big diff too!

I know what you mean by High dollar, I seem to remember being told that the lens used for these photo's cost more than the camera...and the camera wasn't cheap either!

But it sure does take great pics

Alfa - Hobby Lobby is the US distributor. If you post your location it helps....
