Has anybody upgraded the motors yet? Mine feels like it has lost power and my props seem to wiggle forward and back a little. Maybe its my batteries?

Replace the motors, they wear out in an average of 50-150 flights. Usually shorter on the mossie because the two should be balanced.

Are you flying with colder batteries then before? Do you have a fresh battery to test before surgery of motor replacement? The motors I have replaced were all after obvious failures including loosing an armature pole, brush screeching then nothing, increased turning resistance of armature after a flight do to wire heating and rubbing.

Forward and aft movement from the prop shaft is normal. I like to see about 1/16" of play to allow for temperature movement.

I just got a NIB Mossy from a trade I did with another user. The plane looks great in the box but I was never a fan of dual motor bombers. I was thinking of maybe trading this guy for the UM Spitfire. If you guys know anyone that would like to do such a trade let me know!

I think we may have the long-awaited practical bl conversion for the Mossie! The BL mCPX tail motor fits the UM gearbox & only needs a pinion to work. And, it puts out more thrust on 1s than the stock motor. Add a pair of bl ESCs & you're done! Switch to the AS3X brick from the Beast & install a pair of 2030LO AS3X aileron servos with built-in differential & you'd have the best UM video platform around!

Sorry, but the brushless motor was a false alarm. Turns out that the motor won't work with the factory gearing & the UM-sized props.

What kind of tape should I look for for reassembly?

Didn't want to have flaps only inboard of motor nacelles so came up with this simple solution: make them as wide as ailerons allowed and removed part of the nacelles.
The flaps are very effective but really draggy so don't throttle back too much!

Great flap mod! I bet they're very effective. I've often thought about adding flaps to mine. This has perked my interest again!

The best I've found is "scotch" type tape from Walgreens. It is a little more narrow than standard office type clear tape, and it is thinner and maybe a little stretchier.
Cheap, too!
Best atribute is the "thinner" part.

Yes, that does help. Wish I would have known that before I went to walgreens earlier today!
Regular scotch tape isn't stretchy at all, and is kinda milky. That doesn't seem appropriate.

First off, I checked everything prior to adding the panel lines just to make sure I didn't do all the work and then have an issue to where I couldn't return the plane.

Did the maiden over the weekend and she flies with stock configurations as stated from this thread. I upgraded to 1S 600MAh with an adapter from JST to micro connector. The added weight gets my COG in the right spot so no need for further adjustments.
