"If a tree falls in the forest who would notice?"

This possum would, were he lying beneath it
I know, and that makes all the difference-
There were a couple other solent builders that used foam covered in fiberglass for the necelles but when they took it out on a hot day the necceles bubbled up on them and got very soft. It was then i was happy i planked them all instead of trying the easy way out. joe

Actually, he would be hanging by his tail from one of its branches.

On the anniversary of my birth

Forgive me, my friends, it has been 24 days since my last confession

On this the anniversary of his birth, the possum awoke feeling somewhat maudlin. A mind turns to an accounting of the arc of time.

Random musings followed...
Starting first with the death of my father the elder back in the late 90's.
When does your birthday transition from a celebration, to an accounting of the voices that are no longer audible except as a memory to you and your heart?

The mind falls into retrospect, this possum considers himself quite blessed.
A father and a mother that loved well and passed that to their son.
The most beautiful soul, my wife of 27 years.
Two beautiful daughters well loved.

Lastly, a song comes to the possum to comfort him
Not from the radio, but a gift of the mind
You should give it a listen...

(A Jimmy Buffet's Song from 1973- He went to Paris)

I will take some artistic license and tweak from the long line of great possums
Mark Twain.......Jimmy Buffet........The Flying Possum

Through many long years of perpetual motion
If he likes you he'll smile and he'll say
Some of it's magic and some of it's tragic
But, I had a good life all the way

Cherish your loved ones -
Adieu

Sorry to hear about any parent passing as i had none while young .I had instead some down to earth farm people adobt me and teach me right from wrong. They are still both living and doing well but i think about the day when they might pass and how bad i will feel so i make trips to see them often now. joe

So you are blessed as well, Joe -
You have learned to give as well....
May your days be light, and your joys boundless
