The KK2 never appealed to me. So far I like my WiteSpy MultiWii Pro 2.0.

here is a new imu ( Crius AIO Pro , atmega 2560 based ) that can be added to 2.1 in def :

IMU Orientations and Sensor definitions

Code: Select all
#if defined(CRIUS_AIO_PRO_V1)
#define MPU6050
#define HMC5883
#define MS561101BA
#define ACC_ORIENTATION(X, Y, Z) {accADC[ROLL] = -X; accADC[PITCH] = -Y; accADC[YAW] = Z;}
#define GYRO_ORIENTATION(X, Y, Z) {gyroADC[ROLL] = Y; gyroADC[PITCH] = -X; gyroADC[YAW] = -Z;}
#define MAG_ORIENTATION(X, Y, Z) {magADC[ROLL] = X; magADC[PITCH] = Y; magADC[YAW] = -Z;}
#define MPU6050_EN_I2C_BYPASS // MAG connected to the AUX I2C bus of MPU6050
#undef INTERNAL_I2C_PULLUPS
#endif

This is just an experiment, even was tested ok, use it carefully. Credit to: Kipkool.

Thanks Kad...

Mine are the X2208 1260Kv ones, but as there are a couple of different versions (mainly the length of the shaft and which end of the can it exits from), I'll just have to wait for them to arrive and see how they will mount.

I think you will be fine with those motor.
It's just a matter of tuning the copter i think, if they can handle the weight your good.

Haha, putting 2400w of motor on a hunter 400mm. would give even warthox a run for his money.
Imagine having 8 kilo's of thrust on such a little frame.. On a novelty 800 sized frame however...

And I just hope the headspeed on my new hunter wont be snail paced.
I want people to get a little antsy when I push this thing low across the deck at full speed.
It has atleast 3:1 thrust to weight, so for lift im not concerned.

why so much thrust? don't tell me you gonna made some new record on "lift beer" competition !
As for the length of the tail boom would greatly depend upon the amount of thrust produced by the combination of the two rear motors angled at 40 degrees ,so if you are using all of the same motors and props, this would equal to about 25 % reduction in total trust of the combination and CG would be somewhere 1/3 back from the T intersection. The way I adjust my copters for CG is slowly raise the throttle while watching for which end lift first and adjust battery accordingly.
Again, each V-tail copter will not be the same unless they have the same motors, props and frame. Trust me.
AC

Haha the motors was a joke from Eric, for a beerlift copter id use an octo.

Do you have a set of PID settings to go with your V-tail modded firmware, AC?
Or is that going to be too different wich each motor setup?

I'm using stock 2.1 settings as she flies like a Quadx , only adjust Yaw when switching from 3S to 4S lipo (P=7 on 3S & 6.4 on 4S).
when will yours ready to rumble?
