Another f'ing 125 died on me 2 days ago... I have no f'ing idea what I'm doing to them.

Over them, that was a $250+ esc :/

My 200 red brick from my radiant is still waiting for a new prop, so I stole it and shoe horned it into the X. Fits surprisingly well! I can still get my esc, CC BEC, and 250mah 2s lipo infront of the wing opening.

So quiet now with the ramp that is in the firmware Joe put onto the esc. Works really good. Recommend to anyone with a X!

Video here:
X plane - Sunday afternoon flight. (0 min 0 sec)

(give it a few minutes for 1080p to process.)

After this flight the esc caps were 71degrees. The body of it was 74. Battery was 82 degrees on the middle cell

82 C? wow

I dunno if an X is supposed to be quiet The brake is working fine with the Mega?

Have you sent any of these dead 125s back yet? I have a few here too. We could stick em all together and give their warranty department a heart attack. Maybe we could swap dead 125's for shares in CC?

Yeah, the brake is working awesome. Stops in an instant. Will be interesting to see how the Jeti works with the new firmware on the 200 redbrick.

Nope, haven't sent any back. I also have two dead 100 lites....

I'll send them an email and see what they say

Not sure how much longer the good old neu pack is going to last at those temps! Was a bloody hot day today and I had it all hooked up and sitting in the sun for 15mins waiting for a spot to fly. Pack would have been close to 40 degrees before I even started.

I feel the need for a 6S pack to go with my 3180kv motor...
Better start searching in the "news" section in certain websites.

Hi,
After many months I'm ready to start purchasing the gear for straight prop- pylon version X. I'm thinking of these from effluxRC.com:
Castle Phoenix ICE 100 ESC
MEGA F5D (green)

And then a Tru-Turn 30mm
I will start with 4S batteries.

If there is a seasoned pylon person willing to take me under their wing I would appreciate it. I'm a seasoned 3D pilot but a bit concerned with servo setup.

I'll be running a 2.4 futaba receiver.

I'm fairly sure that the F5D green has a 3.2 shaft standard, so that spinner should be correct. I've used them before with good success (some 30mm spinners are terrible...). Just check that the mega doesn't have a 5mm shaft.

Tru-turn spinners are pretty expensive for what they are...

Servo setups on the x take time, and are a bit of a pain in the a%% Quite a few servo options, but the trusty DS09's are pretty good in these imo. Double clevis (or a clevis and a l bend which is what I'm going to do on my next one) with a short threaded rod.

Tail is nice and easy.

Pictures are your best friend with this plane. If you can't find what you want in this thread, yell out and ill take some for you

Everything looks good enough in Your post.
Spinner is correct 30mm for 3.2 mm shaft.
For that motor ,I would suggest You to go to http://www.icare-rc.com/mega.htm

Im thinking about sticking my Wasps geared 6S 1600 25/2 setup into the X. ~180mph and it seems much nicer on esc and lipos than the full crazy 35/1 setup.

Wonder if I can get it under 1kg rtf ?
