And FPV setup. Just use balance plug on battery(3sbalance to JST) to feed voltage to transmitter, velcro to side out of the way. Clover leaf antenna, 9XR custom setup. Pipo 10" tablet with 3G service, also Nexus7" for backup ground station.

Hi good job:

How did you get the lights to turn on from the Pixhawk using the transmitter? I am having a hell of a time getting it to work. What channel did you use and how is MP setup.

Thanks

The pixhawk ground goes directly to the battery ground and the 5v from the pixhak is 5v. If I use a servo tester it works providing I join the servo tester ground to the battery ground, 5v comes from the servo tester.

Honestly It should work taking 5v and signal from the pixhawk. Notice how the pixhawk provide power, and ground to the RX too.

Is 5v enough for an LED strip? 9v might work, but 12v is probably best.

No, Just to power the RC Switch/Servo. 12v is derived from other sources like previously shown. I use the Gimbal Power myself for the LEDs. That is not the problem I am having. The issue is activating the switch.

Oh and you are correct, the 5v from the Pixhawk should NOT be use for anything other than RX, ESCs etc.

All I need is a reliable channel output for the RC Switch.

If I plug in a regular low powered micro servo into Channel 6, 7 or 8 It does not budge! That is my issue.

FWIW, 3DR is overnighting me a replacement battery (my orig was DOA). $26 to overnight a $32 battery. Man, that tells you something about 3DR. They seem to care (and have deep pockets). I'm quite appreciative of this move, despite already having another/better battery I've been using. I don't even really know if I TRUST this stock battery to be honest, but will keep it around as a spare in case I need one some day.
