Can Blucore be painted?

I am kinda getting tired of the look of my Blucore planes. How well does Bluecore accept paint, particularly Testors spray paint? Will I add a lot of weight if I paint my planes (3DX & Tensor)? What kind of Foam paint do you use or can recommend?

-Thanks-

Mike

P.S. - Any pictures of painted Bluecore? What colors go with Uh, Blue?

Go here www.InsaneFoamies.com
Every plane in all the pics is blue foam painted.
Cheap 99cent bottles of WATER based acrylic paint from the craft store out of a cheap airbrush.
New ultrafoam versions of the planes are now being sold. Looks alot better than the blue ones.

Testors Model Masters works fine. Lots of colors.
Don't think i have any pics of mine. They were and are pretty simple designs.
just lay some tape on the wing and mask a 'canopy' shape. spray and unmask a red plane with blue stripes... heheh

also the black ink comes off with 'goo gone' from the big lots or home depot.

If ya got the talent (i don't), you might do something like this.
Jurgen Heilig Edge 540...

Wow!
I have a an old Badger airbrush & used to paint plastic models with it using paints thinned with Diosol. Are you saying that I can use the 99 Cent acrylic paints & thin with Windex & then spray it on or do I have to brush it on?

-Thanks-

Windex seems to help the acrylic flow alot better than water.I've used it many times and it works great!Though I paint war type planes and the finish is flat.I'm not sure what you can use to gloss it up ?Possibly a clearcoat of some sort?

In theory if you seal the foam all over with an acrylic sealer or primer, you should then be able to paint over it with anything because the second layer will not come in contact with the foam itself.

Or you can add a gloss coat with Future Floor Wax thinned 25 % with water.
It's acrylic top coat, it's water soluable, it's cheep and it smells good when you airbrush it on.

I "THIRD" the craft store acrylic paint for foamies. 97 cents a bottle at the local Wal Mart and they have about 200 different colors, even metalics and neons and glow in the dark colors.

Glow in the dark eh? That would be great to paint the whole plane in and fly as the sun is going down. Or even "charge" the paint up under lights inside and then take it outside when it's really dark.

Magnum - I don't know if the luminesence of the paint would be enough to night fly by , but the bottle I bavw defenatly dose "Glow In The Dark". I haven't painted it on anything yet to try it.
I have used the white, black, flourecent blue and metalic blue. I got my 97 cents worth of wow's at the field with my FFF Extra 300.

gazza - If you have them would you post some pics of the glitter paint on the 3DX ?
I'm waiting for Tim to post the poans for the Mini 3DX.
I have a pound or two of 3 mm Depron and have just been bit by the CR Rom Bug.
