v911 Transmitter Options

Hi - I tried to find info in the 3000 page thread but its simply too unwieldy to read. Bottom line... I like the v911 and I have a few of them. I really hate the transmitter. I hate the spring action. I can't stand the rudder control. I feel like it has poor resolution signal wise. In short, I think it is holding back the v911's capabilities.

What are my options? mods, alternatives etc. Thanks.

EDIT: this is the one I have. The model is the "revised/improved" version, orange and black from Bangood back in September 2013.

Is the one at this link worth upgrading to?????

Thanks for the help...

I have to say this is a bit of an exercise in frustration.

I just want to fly the v911 without it bouncing around due to bad stick resolution and spinning around due to horrible rudder control.

I really don't want to invest in multiple Tunigy 9x's for two little kids.

Is the "Large" Bangood transmitter ($25) capable of flying this smoothly or do I need the 9x?

If I go the Turnigy route, why is it $53 on HobbyKing and $80+ on ebay???

I do not know where you live, but the USA flyers like the Double Horse 9116 at $7, when in stock.
The Flysky 9X has been as low as US$39. Just be aware that the Turnigy model has a wired in aerial for the rf module. This model is likely in its end days.
If you have to get something quickly get the Flysky T6, which is what I use. They are sold everywhere under many brand names, but cheapest at Hobby King. You should be able to buddy box these through the programming port, or wireless through a receiver.

Thanks Rusty. I'm going to give the WLToy's "Large" TX a shot first. It was $25 shipped on eBay. Certainly the spring action will be improved and (hopefully) the resolution. Worth a try at least.

Just to follow up - I got the WLToys "large" transmitter in. It was $25 shipped. Its a cheap looking, cheap feeling transmitter with toy like buttons and cheap feeling gimbles.

That said, the gimble spring rate and throws feel good. The throttle has a slight notchy feel (on the y axis only) which is a nice touch. In flight it feels far more controlled and the rudder less likely to over compensate. They should just dump the terrible little toy transmitter and ship these. The gimbles are worth it! As far as binding, it bound right up, no drama. 4 AA's to boot. Recommended if you loath the stock transmitter like I do.
