Nice! What does that complete engine weigh?

The model engine as it is, about 2.2 oz. I've been planning to grind some of it away, once the cowl halves are joined. Probably won't be much though, it'll be the better part of 2 oz. when it's done.

Sweet! Looks absolutely perfect. Are you going to add the little automatic rocker arm oilers? I believe this was the only modification to the J5C engine for the NYP

I'm going to leave the motor as is, it looks good enough for me.

The engine is wonderful but the burnished aluminum is spectacular.
I am slack-jawed with amazement, especially when looking at the pictues in your post 142

Really looking good! I've got nine of the 1/12 scale Williams Brothers cylinders collected and stashed for an earlier Spirit project of my own. Some day....

Just have the exhaust pipes to install...

The full scale has a bulge on each side of the cowl in front of the cylinders, that house the magnetos. I never noticed them before scrutinizing photos from the Smithsonian. So we opted them out, it would've been a trick to get the aluminum skin over those and have them look good.

Was able to grind away a third of an oz. from the crankcase of the WB model motor.
