Of this much I'm certain. I'm going to assume that the firmware flexibility in the X12D will allow programmers to allocate the two screens in other ways.
OK scott I miss read chase-wu post about X9 X12 and X16 size and number screen.
X12 is the only to have 2 screens.

OH NOOOOOOOO!!!
With so much space in there (X16D) and still they didn't put a decent rotary encoder on it.. on the 12 ch is understandable because of the LCD but on this one

Somethink like this

Any idea if the X12D and X16D are meant to be used as tray radio?
The sticks seem a bit far away from the edges so you better have big hands if not people like me
that use two fingers won't be happy.

+1

if the radios were faces, they have cross-eyed sticks,

Yep, I agree - there is an awful lot of real estate at the bottom of the X16 that could either be better used for one or two rotary encoders or removed to make the radio smaller. After all, there will be a lot of parameters with numerical values in a radio like this, and scrolling up and down through the numbers will be much easier with a rotary than up/down keys.

Plenty of time to change/update this though - I am personally still very excited about these radios.

why not use an SMA antenna connector? i hate to be unable to remove the damn antenna on those 2,4 ghz radios

also if someone want to use a better antenna por longer range at 2,4 ghz needs to hack the radio? thats not as comfortable,

OSRC did it right there,

love the renders! Looks a bit like the upcomming Jeti radio. But they forgot something: something to put the radio strap on. Don't want to carry this thing in my hands all time ;-)

WoW! That blows me away. But tell me what advantages will the X12D have over the X9D and the X16D over the former two, other than form factor and displays?

Good good, I hope that's right then, that's all I would need, the frsky internal and the dsm2 module plugged in back, I could then lose the dx6i either sell it for next to nothing or keep it as a spare just in case.
I do like the look of the 12 and the 16 and might be tempted to wait for them but we will see how my resolve holds lol.

I think what's clear from many reactions to the 12 and 16 is that most people want a radio that they can reach the sticks to full travel with their thumbs, hopefully the pictures are a bit misleading and the sticks are just looking shorter then they will once complete, if not then a rethink of the size of tx might be in order if frsky dont want to put the majority of the potential buyers off.
The radio MUST feel comfortable in the hand, this is VERY important to me and everyone else I'm sure.
