How cool is this? (450 w/HET 2w20)
I have been building for several years now and because of the harsh winter here in Iowa I decided to build some heli's along with the large scale scratch built planes I typically do each winter.
I went crazy and built 9 helis this winter. All 450's.
I was sitting inventorying my parts and noticed I had a lot of orange parts. I started building the heli and noticed in my EDF box an HET 2w20, I had in an F16 that was a screamer. I remember it being around 3650 KV so I decided to try and fit it in a 450.
Here it is.
I have a 60A esc on it. On 3S it runs great with incredible power. It winds up so smooth and quiet it is a joy to fly. I can get around 6 minutes of hover on a 2200 3 cell. It balances great with the 3 cell. On 4S 2200 it is a little nose heavy but SCREAMS! Can't wait to get it out when the weather warms up.
Here are some pics.

That certainly look pretty good. It ought to work out great too. I remember early on with the 400 size heli's where everyone was using inrunner motors on them. Many of the more popular motors had cooling fins on the housing too. I had forgotten about it, but I still have a couple of 450 clone kits and a couple of inrunner motors I bought to go in them too. If time permits I'll put them together and try the motors out too.
