Dumas Akula power setup

I am about to start the build on my Dumas Akula and was wondering if somebody could help me with the size of the motor and speed controller. In the instructions Dumas only state part numbers and don't give specs of either.
Dumas recommend using a brushed motor but I was wondering if anybody has used a brushless motor and lipo setup?
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would use the recommended dumas motor it's brushed. The brushed motors have a very good slow speed and the brushless are not so great in this category . The dumas speed controllers are not so great so I would get a waterproof one with a reverse. Good luck on the build j.

A lot of us are using the Mtroniks line of ESC's in our subs. The two most popular seem to be the Viper Sub 10 and the Micro Viper Marine 10.
