Question
Is there a LiPo charger that charges to a storage voltage?

Right now I'm only using single cell LiPo Batteries. I understand that for storage it should be charged to around 3.85V. While I'm able to closely monitor the battery and stop the charge once it reaches that point, it's a bit of a pain and I have to let the voltage pass that point to be at a resting 3.85V.

The question is simple, is the a charger that offers the option to charge to 3.85V storage charge?

I know enough to build my own, but I'd thought I'd ask before I re-invent the wheel again.

Thanks,

Bob Diaz

Most of all of the popular chargers will set a battery to storage value. And I say "set" because most will charge a battery up to storage value or discharge it down to storage value.

BTW please include links to any equipment you reference (i.e. batter, charger, aircraft, etc). Not everyone is familiar with all the stuff out there and links to your stuff will allow responses that don't include a lot of speculation.

You probably should be looking at something like the Accucell-6.

Although If you anticipate going to larger aircraft you should consider something in the 300W range.

Right now I have the Dromida Ominus Quadcoopter. I started with the USB Charger that came with the quad, but I've upgraded to the HiTec X4 Micro Multi Charger for single cell LiPos. The batteries for the Ominus are a 700mA single cell.

Trouble is with 1S LiPo's ... there literally is no 1S charger that will function as a Storage Mode charger.

I have a whole box of 1S LiPo's for my micro stuff ... and only way I can do it - is to either discharge via a pen-light bulb, my B6 or just fly the LiPo ...

Hi Glen ... his trouble is he has 1S lipos and a crappy multi charger ...

If he'd gone for a 6 - then he'd have the option ...

Several chargers do, just read the specifications before buying. The Thunder Power 1430C I purchased does. But it is far too expensive if you buy it just for that.
