I've never seen those before! Looks dangerous... just like the SPAD A2!

Yeah, how could the gunner not feel helpless in that position, but maybe with another gunner behind the pilot might work, or feel less lonely.

And in a crash, you would have your own personal meat chopper version of a "Veg-o-Matic"!!!! The prop would "slice and dice" and the engine would pulverize/tenderize!!!!

...the engine would be like Ron Popiel's "Hamburger Patty Stacker. The meat need never touch your hands!!!" It's so much more poetic.

On the other hand, the fires will all be behind you. No more worries about roasting on the Foreman Grill.

Cheers!

The Borel Militaire of 1913-1914, pusher engined 14 cylinder twin row Gnome 140 HP with side by side seating for the pilot and observer. Unusual in that of the 3 tail booms, the upper center one was built into the propeller driver.

The RAF FE-4.. Early attempt at a strategic heavy bomber by the Royal Air Factory. Either two Beardmore 160's or RAF4 V12's of 150 hp for power.
