I am scouting and thinking of making my new home near Ft. Lauderdale area after I retire NASA in a couple of years.

The President of this RC Club is a classy lady that owns her own Real estate Business and may have some possibilities for me.

Brevard County is unwilling to entertain any new location for any new RC Club under Country control. If we lose Moon Port Modelers as a direect result of a Sale of the property then, we will be without an RC field. The Brevard Parks and Rec told us to join at the Dump! Of course the RC Club at the Dump has placed limits to how many so, we at Moon Port will be without an official RC Club in the case we lose Moon Port.

I am just entertaining and trying out possibilities.

Lose Elevator Servo Lead -to- Receiver!

Guys,

The guys over at the Park Flyer Section encouraged me to bring down my beloved GWS pico Tiger Moth from the ropes (hanging from ceiling in my Master Bedroom).

The last incident it flew with just Rudder and Throttle as the Elevator didn't want to respond. That's because, I thought, my nose first landing as I stalled the model about 3 feet off the deck. Didn't bend the Brushless out-runner shaft but, I figured the Elevator servo jammed.

Well, this morning I took the wing assembly partially off and used the wings as a stand and went to work and found to my horror the Elevator Servo Lead connector lose and not connected to the Receiver. This is hard to believe since I am using the Castle Creations BERG super narrow band 72-MHz receiver 4P (4 Channel) which has a good grip on the connectors.

After carefully studying the so called gentle hit from 3 feet off the deck must have dislodged both the ESC and the Receiver causing the Elevator Connector to tug some and finally when I was flying a subsequent flight it finally got lose. It got lose because I used office tape to secure the wires to the inside of the FUSE and of course it will tug from that point.

Anyway, did the major maintenance and secured all connections and tighten up the set screws for both Elevator and Rudder plus changed out all the YELLOW rubber bands as they were very brittle. Also, used some of that neat Harder FOAM that comes in the GWS Gear Pinion Puller Case to keep both Elevator & Rudder servos nice and tight up against the inner side walls of the FUSE and the same with the ESC and Receiver.

A few pictures!

As promised!

Guys,

We finally had some of the best weather conditions here in Central Florida and it was almost DEAD Calm and I wasted no time and came with my Beloved Hangar9 F4U-1A 50-size Electric.

This model is just an amazing flying model. Everyone just stood and watched and yes, I was the only one at the Pilot's station.

Flew it for two wonderful flights and flew it like I stole it!

The landings were picture perfect!

Here is my buddy Gerry (simano) with his Single Lens Reflex (SLR) digital camera with a new zoom lens!

Camera: Pentax K-X DSLR
Lens: Promaster 70-300mm, f4-5.6/w Tele-Macro Zoom.

This is how I feel when I am able to land my Corsair perfectly twice in one day!

Hello James!

Still going to Moon Port Modelers RC club in Titusville.

Also, when I head down to South Florida, I have joined the MPPA and fly out of Markham Park in Sunrise ( a little too far for you!).
