Did you check your pitch settings? Unplug your motor (for safety reasons) and see what your pitch range is. Do you have a pitch gauge to check?

Welcome to the forum

The heli "was hovering when bought", but was that with your present receiver and transmitter, or was it the vendors?

With the blades off and the motor disconnected, the first thing you need to check is that all three swash servo arms are horizontal when the throttle/collective stick is at mid point, that the swash is level, and that the swash stays level as it moves up and down in response to throttle/collective stick movement.

If that all checks out, then you need to check your pitch at low, mid, and high stick position, using a pitch gauge. I normally aim for about -3 degrees at zero stick, +3 degrees at mid stick, and +12 degrees at full stick position.
