Thanks for that, Moto Moto. I was going to ask about smaller pin header sizes. But then I realized that I can probably just find some thin, solid-core copper wire and strip the plastic sheathing. That should do the job, right?

Edit: Or maybe use the coated copper wire that's used for brushless motor coils? That would be safer in terms of preventing any accidental shorts. Or only strip the solid-core copper wire partially. I think that's what I'm going to do!

On an unrelated note, I got my shipment of KISS ESC today. Hurray! Turns out they arrived while I was traveling, and my wife just threw the package in a drawer. WTH? On the upside, I now have enough ESCs to populate several more Warpquads.

I imagine this happens to everybody. It's certainly happened to me before. But this time it happened close to my position, and the camera was rolling. So I thought I'd share this 42 seconds - maybe good for a chuckle at the funny noise the WQ makes when the prop disintegrates.

(darn, that's two time in a row that I can't get the YT player to show up in the post.)

I am betting that the link below would embed, except that the video is set to "private."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1pvdx-zNek

I think you have to delete the "feature=" part of the URL, and avoid the youtu.be domain (as stated previously).

I'm doing it (copy/paste) the same as I always did. I posted many (too many ) videos. But now not working as before. That's the weird part.

EDIT - oh, you mentioned "private" so I went back and checked. "Private" Wonder why it did that. I'll be alert for that next time.

Thanks, BS.

Yep, I've had this happen a few times so now know the sound well.
But you hold the record as I have only had one at a time let go.

I've had a prop let go with my last ever set of FC props on my mini H at 200ft after a vertical drag race. It was a shaky ride all the way down through the goggles

I think I was a bit too self-certain, EArHog. It's still not embedding.

It's a cool video, though. I hope I don't have to hear that sound anytime soon. Because spare props is the one oh-so-critical parts supply I didn't sufficiently stock up on.

I've got a big box o' FC props. I'm not quittin' on 'em until they're all gone.

BTW, that prop lei I've been working on... it's about 10 feet long now.

Good for ya, EArHog! I can't believe they've lasted you this long.

Post a picture of the 10-foot lei, or nobody will believe you.

These two links were found in the links you posted. Thanks. (still not sure what to do. Maybe use more hot glue. (what about epoxy instead of hot glue?)

EDIT - one other question - how does one figure out which connector it is (Molex, JST-SH, JST-ZH, etc.)?
You can go to Digikey's supplier's page for the JST company and start browsing their product line.

http://www.digikey.com/product-searc...,fffc04ca&k=zh

If you are stubborn you can find the lists of the actual parts and there will small pdf icons there, a click on the icon for one of the parts will bring bring up a pcf file with everything you would want to know:

http://www.jst-mfg.com/product/pdf/eng/eZH.pdf

That one happens to be a housing called the ZHR2 (two pins, mounts on a PCB).

You have to be stubborn and lucky and maybe even hold your mouth right as you search but all the info it there...

A eBay search for "JST" or "JST ZH" or "JST micro" will be rewarding too...

Thanks a bunch, Jack.

I noticed a recent pic of Quadmovr's WarpQuad, and the wires that I presume are for Rx looked more substantial than mine. I want that.

I might trade the word "patient" for "stubborn" when it comes to browsing the Digikey website. And unfortunately patience is one of those several important things that I'm not very good at.

EArHog it's not hard to make your own custom plugs.
And you don't need a special crimper, tho one would be handy

Here is my Naze 32 to KISS ESCs custom plug.
I popped a clip out and spun it around for the pic.
I crimp the wire using very fine pointy pliers first, (square up all neat so it will
slide back in the plastic shell OK) then lightly solder the wire with a fine tip.
You have to be quick and don't let the solder fill the groove the pin slides into.
Then I fold over the wire anchor tabs LAST or the insulation will ooze out like
toothpaste when soldering.
The wire in the photo is that thick 22 AWG twisted servo wire sold by HK by the
mtr. Thin wire is easier to work but the insulation melts and shrinks back up the
wire more easily
https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...B_Y_22AWG.html

The other tiny plugs can also be done, just a lot more fiddly

I wish all plugs were made this way but the cost would be prohibitive, some larger
plugs have the wire spot welded when crimped as well, they never fail

BTW you don't need lots of solder, lightly sweated onto the clip works best.

Damn Maggies ! !
I've been waiting for them to start up here at the local airfield. Every year at this
time they try to take out the fliers and models, we keep a good supply of sticks, rocks and golf balls handy
Most get the message after a while and just watch and warble Magpie expletives at us.
But if you get a Rogue it's usually a fight to the death, there is NO Off Button
