No they donít.

CC had an anti-spark circuit on some of the early Phoenix HV 85 ESCís but it gave so much trouble that they had to recall them and remove that circuit. Sparks are hard on connectors but good for ESCís Ė LOL.

I use a 1-ohm resistor to make my own device for 10s and 12s setups. In the past threads CC says donít use higher than 1-ohm or it could mess up the bootup. Even with 1-ohm the cell counter is not reliable so I always use manual LVC.

I have a blown Phoenix 60A and was thinking of sending it back to CC for repair. Their website says the Phoenix line is discontinued but they have an upgrade program from the Phoenix line to the ICE line (i.e., a Phoenix 60 can upgrade at a discounted price to an ICE 75).

Of course, the ICE line is gone but they still have the Phoenix-->ICE upgrade path listed on their website. I updated the firmware for most of my Phoenix controllers a month or so ago.

Thanks for pointing that out Pipemajor!

I'll make sure the website is updated to show Phoenix to Edge upgrade.

Will be the same price as the Phoenix-ICE upgrade.

Patrick - thanks! I also sent an email to Castle support asking the same. I guess I'll be joining the Edge community fairly soon.

Edge Operating temperature limit

Does anyone know what the maximum operating temperature of the new Edge controller? I've looked around in the literature and can't seem to find it.

Hard shutdown temp is about 150C (about 300F.)

I'd suggest 125C (~250F) as a maximum operating temp.

Thanx!

"an error occurred while trying to parse the logged data"

I have this to too with edge and non edge ESCs. Clearing the buffer does not always help as the problem returns. Going to gui 3.52 always works. Always.

That message will show up if there is an insufficient amount of data in the log, less than 10 seconds.

What do you mean when you say it always works with 3.52?

- download 4 minutes in the data log; parsing error on 3.55; install 3.52, download same data (~4 minutes worth), graph is displayed. Clear buffer.

- fly; download 4 minutes in the data log (still using 3.52), graph displayed. Clear buffer.

- same as above.

- fly; download 4 minutes in the data log (3.52), graph displayed. Install 3.55; download same data, this one time, no parsing error. Clear buffer.

- fly; download 4 minutes in the data log (3.55); parsing error; go back to 3.52; download same 4 minutes in the data log, graph displayed.

Similar things happened with both ICE and Edge ESC on same aircraft.
