can't wait, My first micro

I've got a pitts special kit, u80 prop, gearbox, battery, rffs 100, and all the trimings. I've got a lot of experience with other electrics, but not theindoor micros. Any suggestions? Anyone built this pitts yet?

Build it light, straight and true like you would a FF model. Check the CoG carefully.

No but it is a model like any other only perhaps a little harder than a high wing trainer.

The secret to micros is to try and build them right in the first place and then trim them like a FF model. You should avoid dialing in trim if possible. Consider thrust lines, incidence, decalage and CoG when trimming out. Powered glides can be a good way to get started or even ROG.

I suggest you locate the CG well ahead of the location shown on the plans. I built the same designer's Micro Moth. "My" flyable CG is at the front edge of the lower wing-well ahead of the plan location. You can work the CG back once you know it flies. Remember: Nose heavy airplanes fly like slugs, tail heavy airplains fly once (Shameless stolen from another post somewhere on eZone)

Do a search here on this forum, pretty sure I've seen a few around excuding the designers one.

I've got the parts cut but am playing with a scaled down Drenalyn while I'm getting the hang of micros.

A few have. I've seen/may have video of one flying. It's on my list too.

You may consider building a little simpler design for your "test bed". I just built a blu-bug from rcmicroflight plans. If you don't subscribe to this online mag u may want to. Lots of free downloadable plans. This will be my first micro although I have plans for the micromothe and pitts. I'm waiting for my rx etc. and am building so I'll be ready. It may be a good start with the blu-bug............just a thought. I get to see micros at our monday indoor flying sessions in San Antonio.
