...starting to think I'm talking to myself in here

I stopped by Barnes on my way home today, it was still overcast but not precipitating. I was mostly doing some launch testing, and setting adjustments. It's interesting to me that slight changes make such noticeable differences. I'd say my last 3 launches were at least 30' more than where I started out the session. I even found lift, which surprised and annoyed me, since I really wanted to do launch testing. Those thermals kept distracting me from my purpose

Sorry, I didn't get a chance to fly today either. I've been back now for 1/2 week from a week long vacation and I'm still 2 weeks behind

I will be having an ocular inferno a little after 12:00 tomorrow. I suspect Barnes may be one of the few places to get treated properly.

PT is down with that, Anyone else???

Well kids luck is on my side tonight. We went out to eat tonight so I had to take the Helios out of the Blazer and set her on top of the van.

Well after dinner I went test driving a new vehicle and the lady went to the gym.

So I am coming home and am a block from the house when I see something in the road in the other lane. Thats when I recognize its a DLG in the upside down position......... Just like they sit at contest when not flying.

I grab the Helios, look her over and come home with my heart in my throat. Upon closer inspection there is a hairline crack in the nose that has no load bearing duties. Other than that she is just fine.

That could have ended poorly!

If you southern boys hate your ladies so much, I'll be glad to provide a good home for them.

If I take my DLG out of the car it gets hung up, I just don't trust them anywhere else.

Ok, I found a little damage. On the throwing blade its a little scuffed up from the "Incident" and so I wiggled it a bit and the patch on the top skin had delamed ever so slightly and is allowing just a slight movement. Enough that the wing tip is no longer rock solid. So the question is.

Do I mix up some 30 minute and work it into the cloth or do I use thin CA and try and work it in? I am almost tempted to try and remove the cf cloth on the top and replace it. The bad news is unless I start a repair right now I wont be flippin at barnes tomorrow.

Help.

Edit, the top patch on the wing tip peeled right off. There is a soft spot just forward of the area where the CR blade peg is at the furthest into the wingtip. I am tempted to cut out a small hole and fill the soft area in w/ epoxy and micro ballons and then do a new cf patch over the wingtip like there was before.

I'd call Finch. I would also repair the patch with epoxy, but a laminating one.

Would someone mind posting the location of "Barnes". I checked the first post but didn't see anything there.

I'd like to come watch you guys fly if I can swing it.

I'm planning on Barnes at noon tomorrow (today) as well.

It's 950 W, 200 N in Kaysville, just west of I-15 on exit #328. There IS a map in post #1 under "Davis County". Here it is again HERE.
