Cool toy

https://anki.com/en

A bit pricey, but reasonable considering what it does.

We were very lucky. We had to make our own entertainment. Maybe we got a train (railroad) set. We thought that was special but still did a lot of things ourselves. Fishing, climbing trees, making a 'track' bicycle from old bits, etc.

Now kids are merely 'consumers'.

Looks like mini RC cars controlled by Android device meets Mario Kart with powerups to knock the competition out.

I have a big empty concrete floor basement. I wish I didn't miss the Radio Shack X-mods era. I wanted to get a handful of them and set up a track in the basement with the kids. Never got around to it. I would rather have X-mod like RC cars and race them around with the kids than having the weapon thing.

Is this (or a variation thereof) how the Russian HO mega-layout guy ran the non-rail vehicles?

Might be a good Christmas idea for the son. I am a bit tired of having to charge everything.
Slot cars just race until get tired of racing.
