Plane Thread Index

This thread is intended to contain links to threads on planes that someone who is looking for ideas or is new to micro planes can browse through. If you would like to nominate a thread to be included in this thread please post the link and brief description of the plane. After reviewing it if Graham and I agree it is a thread and plane worthy of including in this thread we will add the thread to the links sections and delete your post.

There is now a link to this thread in the "Micro Index Thread". I will sticky this thread for a week or two so people can easily find it to post in. After that I'll cut it loose.

This thread is under construction while I work out the details of how to host the thumnails on the Ezone. For now a few trial thumbnails are hosted elsewhere. Over time I'll add thumbnails and better descriptions to all the referenced plane threads. But, this will take time. Be patient.

Actuator Planes

STICK TYPE

Quick Junior. A 15 gram pager-powered stick plane that's easy to build and fun to fly. Plans and construction article are also in the December 2003 Inside Story column.

Another Lil' Skeeter This thread covers some nice enhancements to a standard Lil' Skeeter, lenthening the fuselage and using remote actuators. It also has a nice light color scheme.

SCALE/SEMI-SCALE

Scott Christensen's Waco SRE from Dave Robelen's February 2003 RC Micro Flight plans. Excellent scale details in a 31 gram plane.
Scott's second Waco SRE with accurate oulines and even more scale details.

13" Nieuport 17: actuator scale bipe.

16.5" Cessna Bird dog: actuator scale plane.

13" Ultimate Bipe: 4-channel actuator bipe

13" Pitts: foam Pitts actuator bipe.

14" Spad: scale actuator bipe.

16" Piper Cub: scale actuator plane.

ROOM FLYERS

Room Flyer Videos thread to collect videos of planes that successfully fly in typical rooms of a house.

Lad's 1.5g Bipe from St Petersburg Russia. This plane would surely be the lightest in the world it he had one of the elusive 10mAh Kokam cells instead of the 20mAh cell.

Dave de Wit's 1.5g plane, apparently the unofficial world record.

Rob Guillot's 2.8g room flyer

Bob Bailey's 4.5 gram room flyer is in a thread with details of his 0.1g dual muscle wire actuator.

Kochi's 2.86g plane using the 20mAh Kokam LiPoly cell. Has a link to his web site with more detail.

The Midge: 5.6 gram palm-sized living room three channel airplane

The Cherub: FOUR-channel (full house) 8 gram living room flyer (T/R/E/A)

Wisp: A triplane room flyer, one of the first successful and truely slow room flyers

VERY SMALL ACTUATOR PLANES

Tiny Moth 6.5g pager plane by Jonas Romblad uses BBA (muscle wire actuators), IR control, 6mm pager motor, and balsa and tissue no-cal construction for a nice rendition of a Tiger Moth.

Ralph Bradley's 7.75-inch span Micro Mite

Matt Keennon's 2.4g SE-5 Biplane

Bob Bailey's 8-inch Nieuport 11

FOAMIE CONVERSIONS

Acro Bipe for RFFS-100

I've begun the slow process of adding thumbnail pictures. Ok, start nominating plane threads.

MicroPitts

I haven't tried this one yet, but it looks to be a real winner.
