Hi,

Hacker sell LiFe (=a123) battery pack, rather many varoius cells and mAh, and C.

http://www.hacker-motor-shop.com/e-v...&c=2989&p=2989

Little translation for You to do there from German to English but I think it is not that hard to see the specifications (cells, capacity, volt, max amp continous/short time, weight, seize).

In US it is a Hacker reseller but I do not know if they sell TopFuel LiFe packs also.

Do You want to use it for electric motor, receiver, transmitter or what?

Phil,

Sent you an email this morning to links with specs and prices.

LiFe are not A123 Systems Inc. cells. Real A123 cells are the only ones worth considering. Links for the 26650 size cell in 2500mAh and the more common 2300mAh cells are here on RC Groups. Searching for A123 in the Batteries and Chargers tread should yield a bunch more links for you to investigate.

Years ago K2 Energy Solutions had LiFePO4 cells that were extremly close to sa e performance as A123 Systems cells.

I've still got a pack of K2 cells. I didn't find them all that close in performance to the A123s. Steve at http://www.battlepack.com still sells them in 2500mAh and 3200mAh sizes.

Just curious, what are the main advantages of A123 cells (by Systems Inc) over other LiFe cells?

That is not the case. There is a difference between LiFePo4 and A123.

Seriously, and not trying to be flip; the A123 cells work nicely at about 100 watts out per cell, others don't. Of course A123s work well at less current or more, but the sweet spot for the 2300mAh cells is about 35 amps, which yields just shy of 100 watts out per cell. The K2 Energy cells fall short on providing the power and do have a higher internal resistance than those produced by A123. There are a lot of LiFe-Poly packs that seem to be aimed at receiver and transmitter power. I have no firsthand experience with them, so really can't comment.

Try RadicalRC here. I am happy with them so far.

thanks all.

thank you guys. from the data you provided, seems that a123's are way more expensive than the lipos am using, and i can't find the reason to change. am happy with lipos anyway, i was just curious about the 123's.

regards
