Tower Hobbies Millenium Master

I looked around some, but did not see another thread on this. Feel free to point it out if I'm duplicating here.

Looks like Tower Hobbies is releasing a new model based on the Millenium Master. link

Is this a new model or is it just a repaint of of the Flyzone model of the same plane? A quick comparison of specs between the two suggests the latter. So what's the point here? Is anyone flying or looking to get this one? Thanks.

I looks like it is discontinued. Tower must have had enough demand to buy the rights to it or whatever.

The red one was discontinued

Until a few days ago they also had a spelling difference. The red one was spelled Milennium Master and didn't show up in the search for Millennium. It's spelled this way throughout the Millennium Master thread too. Now the red one is spelled the same as the blue one.

This is the thread that's been around for a while

I am surprised there isn't more talk about this plane on RC Groups. It flies really nice:

Very little talk about this plane over in the main thread either. That thread was active for quite a while but has been very quiet lately.

I have always been a big fan of the MM. Over 300 flights on my original very slightly modified one, and about 30 on my newer all stock blue one. I fly them both frequently and still believe the MM is probably the best inexpensive foamy sport flyer I've ever experienced.

Maybe there's not much discussion because there's not much to complain about. The original had some issues with a noisy motor and and an occasionally bad ESC. But it seems the new blue one has corrected these issues.

MM has a nicely designed and finished rigid airframe with great component access through a big hatch. Stock power system is plenty strong for sport flying and aerobatics. And it's flight characteristics are among the very best.

With coupon discount it is nearly always under $100 and occasionally can be bought for about $85 when on sale. For me at least, it's fun/$ ratio is unbeatable.

I posted (I thought) over at the MM thread? Did I post at the wrong thread?

In any case, I have been flying the one I bought from Peterswolf and its been great!

I wished the stock motor would have had a small flat spot so, I can use set-screw prop adapters as the one I am using keeps coming off in mid-flight every 20 flights or so....

There are a few, if you ask me...

It is my opinion that the Official discussion thread is from Tim Lampe; Hobbico R&D who at that time was the HOBBICO Vendor Agent. The thread was opened back in JUNE 1st, 2012.

And this is probably the most active and longest one (although it's been quiet lately):

I might be wrong but, it is a HOBBICO product and I believe TOWER owns it.

Tower owns nothing. They have a lot of my money, though.

Hobbico owns Tower.

I seriously doubt that one!

TOWER came long before HOBBICO!

The MM was originally branded as Flyzone, red only, and sold at a higher price point. It was discontinued but shortly afterward reappeared, branded Tower, blue and much lower in price.

The Tower plane appears to have better quality control - the motor and esc both operate much nicer than the original version. Like many Tower and Flyzone planes, this one appears to be manufactured by ST Model.

I think the Great Planes "Electrifly" Super Sportster EP is also made by ST.
