Unfortunately most brands lie about their C rating (many aren't even half right). Having gone through many different brands I've settled on the Gens Ace. I haven't tried them but I understand the "Pulse" brand are basically the same quality as Gens Ace. They certainly look very similar in construction.

I have heard that about battery manufacturers. I use admiral's "pro series" from motion RC. I also use Turngy batteries for my kids plane. But I don't think they are accurate about their C rating or their capacity. The admiral batteries I use have worked well for me so far. I am interested how turngy's designer brands fare I. E. The Turngy multistar, or the A-Spec? How would you even test the C rating? Is there a way you can get the rating using a multi-meter?

Multistar batteries are very low C rated as they are made for multicopters (light weight due to low C rating). I was disappointed with the 3 3S 4000mah batteries I bought for my quad copter. Dropped very quickly in voltage compared to smaller 2200mah packs I use for helicopters and other planes. Absolutely useless for any plane unless the amp draw is very low like 15amps.

Don't know how to test C rating... only by trial and error.

That's sad, they made such a big deal about their batteries when they came out. They even said that with the bigger 6000mah and bigger that they would work with higher draw airplanes. That's very disappointing. I am glad I didn't buy one though
