Micro Index4

This was posted on the F3P forum in the Index thread.

The model is from milled 2mm Depron. Powered by an AP05 motor on a 2s 160 pack. 580mm span and 52g AUW.

Wish it was me flying bt it was a clubmate Dave Wilkinson. 4 min. flight, the battery was just starting to fade.

Steve

Hats off to Dave and the plane, but I couldn't get my attention away from the plane that appears in the extreme right lower corner. We finally get to see it at the end, starting about 3:57. Looks like a VTOL of some sort. I don't mean to hijack the thread, but do you have any info on that plane?

Hi Potshot, the plane in question is indeed a VTOL. It was designed by John Ogier, a Guernsey club member and a few examples have been built. The model hovers nicely in the scouts hut but a bigger venue is needed to transition to normal flight and back to hover. Great fun outdoors on a calm day.

I'll try to get some specific details and some video next session.

Here's some video of the vtol. Sorry but I missed the transition both at takeoff and landing.
