Can you fly the AXN in an area of somewhat limited space? (say, 100 x 65 yds, kind of.., with two or three trees here and there.. But a big open 75 x 35 yd. stretch to land in...)

Thanks.
AXN is a glider and can be quick. I am not sure it will be the best for your flight area. Try something a little slower and floaty. Maybe the fun cub copy or the foam old timer thing. May be better for your space and learning curve.

Try one of these:

The way this lands may surprise a lot of folks. Heck I was surprised at how far this plane glided without power on my first landings. Had to turn around a couple of times before I got the timing right. So for a small space for the first time, a big fat NO lol.

The AXN is my first and only plane. It was easy to put together and flies nicely. I have flown mine about 2 dozen times now and no crashes......yet! You can do rolls, loops and even inverted with it. You don't need a huge area to fly it, but to see it's full potential, it's nice to be able to let it stretch it's wings and cruise around if you have a larger space to do so.

I'm sure there will be other suggestions on what to buy, but this has worked for me so far with no issues.

I bought the PNP (motor only) version and added the following:

Servo's: Bought 8 since they were so cheap http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Search=hk15178

Colet Adapter: Bought 2 to have a spare http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...?strSearch=3mm colet

Prop: Bought 3 to have a few spares http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...?strSearch=tgs 6x4e

Battery: Have 5 now, but 2 would be a good start http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...Lipo_Pack.html

As for the ESC, I already had a 40A laying around and used it. I would recommend getting at least a 30A as others suggest if you don't already have one lying around.

Hope this helps

I agree to everything you wrote!

Keep in mind you have expieriences as a heli pilot.

In my opinion the AXN is more a beginner with expieriences to advanced plane.

Not for a newcomer to RC flying.

This is a great plane. It was my first plane and took quite a beating, but continues to fly. You really can't go wrong.

I'm at the point where the body just can't be repaired anymore.. I need to purchase a new hull soon. Here's the latest picture of mine with my brother holding it:

I'm a novice (2 months in RC); so a lot of the technical settings are going right over my head. I'm building up an AXN floater-jet and want to practice with the Discus 2CT in aerofly. If you have any screenshots of your settings -- or if there is a way to transfer your file -- I would GREATLY appreciate it! Thanks.
