Very sorry for your loss. It sucks the most when they are our favorites. She was mighty fine looking and held a special place. I enjoyed the thread and learned a few things. Thanks for the efforts and we are looking forward to what's next.

It was a spectacular crash at those speeds for sure but like you and others, Ralph, I've got a couple on the back burner.

I learned a lot on this build. Looking forward to getting some paint on the next one.

Very sorry to hear about your lost, most unfortunate. We have all been there and done that at one time or another. I had been reading your build log and know you put a lot of work into that plane. You did a great job on it, but how I look at it is, you not only built a great plane. But you shared your building skills with us all and we all feel your lost. That is what great about RCG , we share our thoughts, skills and make friends who give support when things like this happen.

You're right Ron, and I just started this journey so more to come...

I really have learned so much more helping others out that the next one's going to be much better.

Phil, it's shredded and I want to build it better so it's all gone now. I gave it to someone that wanted to mount the tail on his wall...naturally not a modeler, that would be like cannibalism. ..lol

Man..., that is just rotten Tim! Can't watch this any longer.

I'll have to wait til yo V2 starts glistening

It even hurts to see that fresh NR all gobbled up... Dang shame.

Tim handled the crash like a professional while a bunch of us watching had a what the??? moment of shock, then silence, then we all went back to flying in some of the wildest wind central Texas could whip up. That downwind leg made for intense concentration to keep the speed steady and Tim was really wringing it out. The build log and then the final flight really made an impression on me as a newbie to pattern.

Hey Tim, sorry to hear and see your DB is gone.

It might take some time but your next one will be even better!

Remember the old pattern gods motto,

“Always build 2 of the same plane simultaneously”

I miss it but I'm over it and planning my next planes.

The ARF is coming along and will get an OS 95V. I removed the retract bay in the nose to lose almost 2 oz. I'll be mounting the tail servos in the tail (3 - JR 3421's) and it might get a steering servo. It may get a home built wing if I can't hit the 7 lb mark...we'll see.

The Vertigo parts are made and it's almost time for assembly. It's getting a Speed 13. Fortunately I didn't use my 'Not an ARF...' decal Robert made for me so I may have to copy his scheme to throw everyone off...hehe, I wouldn't do that. But it will get the decal.

And finally Buddy is helping me with a replacement 60F engine to replace the one that got destroyed. I can't say enough about this engine with a Jett muffler. I had the 60CR in there first and I was a bit disappointed. The 60F will probably go in the Hobby Barn Curare.

Can't wait....

Yes, that DB was COOKIN' when it went in! I'm sure that's a taste of what the Vertigo will do.

Thanks to everyone for the support. It was well recieved.
