What's with the limited stock with motors??

So are 2300/2400kv motors scarce, rare or just high demand? Does anyone have any insight on when we'll be able to buy these? I've got a grounded Mini H quad because NO ONE has these in stock. Not even Ebay. I have found 4 options for motors.
HK Turnigy
SunnySky
T-Motor Blackout (way to high priced); yet still out of stock.
Banggood RCX ZMR 1804; still not in stock.

It seems to me from reading all the forums that these motors are in very high demand. The T-motors are the only other ones that have simulator performance and weight but are twice the price.
There also seems to be some production issues and none shipped from China for a few months which caused a shortage.
So it is both a production shortage and high demand as well as people buying them in higher quantities when they are in stock.

The RCX 1804-2400kv motors are still in stock at myrcmart.com. I'm running these but they are not as powerful as the SS2204's.

They are popular but restocked often enough. Whitespy had them a couple weeks ago, then MRSS, xHover etc., plus they are always coming up on classifieds for a few bucks over normal costs. In fact, there are (4) NIB in classifieds now for $120.

They are typically $20 to $22 each (4 for $80 to $88) plus some shipping.

Now I'm thinking that people are buying them up to sell at a huge profit.

Shortages often create buying frenzies. I myself am willing to buy 8 motors in case I need them later.
