Armstrong's day fails to get any better…

Other than Armstrong does anyone out there still really think he didn't take drugs and this was all a conspiracy against him?

Not really

He still won those races - just like Ben Johnson won his - drugs help but you still have to do it!

He may or may not have used drugs. He probably did take IV red blood cells that were pre-harvested.

He did however, pass all the tests at the time. A huge number of performance enhancing drugs were adequately tested for so he was much cleaner than cyclists who raced in the decade before him. That's good enough for me.

Nobody who will be elevated by his demotion is any cleaner than he is and many are a lot dirtier. In anycase, the evidence is not direct and enough time has passed to let it go.

He was the best racer of his time in a fair fight. Get over it and move on.

The argument that he did it because everyone else did it doesn't fly with me. Nor does the argument that he was "cleaner" than other racers, work as well.

He either did or he did not.

However, in my opinion, the real monster here is the sporting authorities. With this much doping and such a vast number of cyclists breaking the rules, one needs to ask whether or not the authorities are actually serious about keeping the sport clean.
