Ron, Is that your Slick? I have that same mtr on my Edge and while the new 1800kv works well on my CY, I think I like the old one better, pretty equal pwr, but with the older mtr I'm getting about 1.5min longer flight times and I like the extended shaft so it holds the prop better/easier.

Mike, on the bigger planes like the Telink, do the grommets need to be somewhat compressed so the torque doesn't compress them and change the angle under load?
I generally use quite hard grommets on the Telinks, but in all cases you need to start to compress the grommets as a 'base setting' to make sure you have a good solid mount before starting to adjust the thrust angle. If you do that, I haven't found that there is any variation under motor torque.

Ron, its about time you get some low winds! So what is the mount mod? You using it to set the thrust angles? Have fun flying! John

Yeah,Mike came up with the idea to use some servo gomets,or silicone tubing to make adjustable mounts! I've already got a set On the Slick V2,and they adjusted very easy! Sure is alot easier than adding removing washers! http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...postcount=1042 Ron

Trying to dig up some tubing around the ranch here to mess with the thrust angles. Looks like we have two more days of sun and then we're into a wet spell for at least 10 days.

So are you adjusting the thrust angles by the thickness of the grommet or silicone tubing? John

Yes like this, you tighten the screw to compress it on the side/top/bottom that you want to alter.

Didn't find any soft tubing but I did find some rubber bands that might work. I can tape down the loose ends to keep them away from the prop.

I think you'll need something a bit thicker.
