OMG John!! ..I had a life changing experience today.I slope soared with a hawk today. I was on the mountain..no motor, no noise..just me and a southern Las Vegas Nevada wind. I was flying the ridge lift when mother nature showed up and graced my presence..

A beautiful Hawk came up beside me ..looked at my man made craft and decided to be my wing man for a beautiful 5 minuets.. we flew together and played with the ridge lift, I following his lead when he found lift he following my lead when I found lift.,. it was silent and beautiful..The wind shifted and I had to land but the hawk gave what seemed like a final salute flyby pass when I landed..I set the transmitter down I grabbed the camera out of my back pocket and snapped a pic without even aiming as my brief encounter with my fellow aviator flew away ...

Andy

Was that your first time on the slope? It can be great, I know I live in Kansas, but we have some great slopes here, fly for hours. Lake Wilson is known world wide.

That is a really cool story Andy. I've always wanted to try slope soaring but never had the opportunity in places that I've lived. Very cool.

Awesome story Andy! I've had a few soaring encounters with airborne friends and it was amazing. You're right, John will dazzle and amaze as he always does. No need for Direct TV during the next 5 months.
