Hey! How about a Midwest Bebe Jodel!

Hi Guys:
Way back when, I guess it was the late 1950's, My dad and I started
on a great little Midwest kit. It was called the Bebe Jodel. It was a
model of the well known low wing home built, originally powered with
a converted VW beetle engine. The model was nicely contructed for
1/2 A power. Never the less, we never got the Bebe finished and it
vanished into oblivion. In these September days, I would really like
to build one for electric R/C. For my grandson....
Any plans or complete kits around?
Sincerely,
Jon B. Shereshaw

You might try Orange & White's Plans Forum here on RC Groups, or Google "Outerzone", an excellent internet plans repository. If no luck, then I do have a complete kit I would be willing to have the plans scanned and email you a PDF copy.

OK. Here's a question for all those "model airplane historians " on this thread.
What is the meaning of the registration number F-MPGI?

Part of the original model was built by Joe Vermoch in my workshop in Chicago.
Joe was a good friend of mine who was sadly lost in a sailboat accident during a storm on Lake Michigan.

F is for France as N is for US. Not sure what MPGI is since PAAA through PZZZ is for homebuilt.

F is correct for a French registration number. MPGI stands for Midwest Products Gary, Indianna. A little bit of free advertising for the manufacturer of the kit.

One of these was my first R/C model. Unthrottled Cox Thermal Hopper power; Babcock "Magic Carpet" tube radio, rudder only. That was about 1967. You brought back good memories!

Missed that Bebe Jodel 9.....Grrrrrr...

Hi Skylane 42:
Thanks for your input. Darn, I passed on the first one - went for $76.00 +. I missed the second one - looked good, price was right - I was out of town for Christmas. Could you help
me keep an eye out for another complete - "New" kit.
Sincerely,
