Video (now on YouTube): Libelle and Weasel ripping it up on a blustery day at MLO

It was a blustery and rainy afternoon at Mormon Lake Overlook this past Saturday. The gusty NW breeze was not ideal (cross from the right): but KC and I had a blast working the right side mini-bowl and wall at Mormon Lake Overlook. Thanks to Michael for providing the hardware and the Big Guy for awesome environment.

Dawson

P.S. The video may self destruct... Vimeo had ticketed me for use of copyrighted materials and may delete the video. I have appealed for "fair use."

P.P.S. I tried uploading this video to YouTube and all is well so far....

Vimeo deleted my video!

After allowing several years and over a hundred videos published, all including copyrighted music, Vimeo decided that my latest video was not a "fair use" of such material and as a result deleted my video. I am wondering how long the rest of them will survive. I did appeal their original decision; but just received a note that my appeal was denied: "You did not provide a sufficient basis for claiming “fair use” of the identified material."

This make me wonder what has changed with Vimeo and why Corporate is so concerned with hobbiest using copyrighted materials for their personal non-commercial videos. It is not like I haven't purchased this music... many more than once in various media formats.

I guess i will be looking for another video server.

Yep - vimeo have got fussy about copyright - "someone" must have been pushing them.

Shame - it was all too good while it lasted.

Before you give up - try a different soundtrack - or one by a different artist - last videos I made, vimeo filters didn't seem to be as extensive as youtube, so I got past them - after initially getting hit for a well-known track/artist

It would be a real shame to loose all your videos. They are some of my absolute favorites

That sucks. I thought it was only YouTube that was anal about this stuff. I did get to watch it once though....nice as always Dawson.

I've actually purchased some music based on hearing it on Dawson's videos then hunting down and buying the digital album. You're not going to buy it if you never hear it. And I'll never hear anything I'm likely to buy on the radio these days. So this copyright nonsense works both ways.

Phil is right about trying another track, another artist. I was watching some Bluff Cove videos on YouTube the other day, and on one video YouTube had muted the soundtrack (a Journey song) and on the next they allowed a Rush tune.
I'd rather hear the Rush anyway

I sometimes find that you can escape the copyright sound filters if you keep the wind noise (rather than cut it out with the music). Perhaps this sometimes confuses the filters, who knows. A lot of the modern popular artists are anal about their music being used, if you use obscure 70s rock bands, i expect they approve of the extra air time?
Dawson what tune were you using that they disapproved of?

Your less dihedral wing really rolls and whips around quickly. Nice fast paced video.

looked like you had some rolling loops in there, really cool. Have you tried modding libels with a mad stab yet?
