Help, Looking For Old .049 Hovercraft Plan

Hi there. I am pretty much an RC and Control Line flier, but recently I have heard of a Tether Pole Hovercraft designed to use a Cox .049 engine. I believe it was in an old magazine. Popular Science, Mechanics, or the like. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone out here would happen to know of such an article, or would even have the article they would not mind sharing. I am looking for a nice little winter project for my addiction. Thank you.

Here are 2

These are two .049 powered hovercraft models I used to kit. They are simple 24" plywood circles with a "C" ty[e skirt. Part of the propeller flow is ducted beneath the craft, the rest provides thrust. They are simple enough you can probably build the from the pictures.

Wow, the first one looks cool. I do really like the looks of the first one. I am new to hovercrafts, and do not see/cannot see how the second one goes. The first is also confusing how it is sitting up on its skirt not running. I guess I am off to do some research on the skirt type and then possibly on to building something. It doe look relatively easy to draw out and build the basics. Thank you.

Ok, number 2 now makes sense. I see where the airflow is directed below the engine now. I just had to blow up the picture.

"C" Type Skirt

Here is a diagram of a "C" type skirt. It is somply a length of material around the edge of the craft restrained at the bottom edge to a slightly smaller diameter.

Thank you. I was fortunate enough to get a copy of the plan I was looking for today. Also, I thank you for the help and replies. I actually now like the ones posted earlier here by Captnpauly, and may just try to draw one up after my airboat is done. Also, thanks for the links, as it would not be too hard to draw that Testors one up either, should I feel the need. Thank you.
