Yes, the Orange heli flew perfect. It amazes me how you can put something away for awhile and then take it out to fly and it doesn't work properly. I'm glad that my hobby grade models don't do that.

I guess that the Blue heli can always be a parts heli. I might try a different motor and see if that makes a difference, but really don't feel like messing with these 3ch coaxial heli's. during this hot weather, maybe after it cools off in the Fall I'll give it a shot.

After painting the boom black, all you need is the carbon fiber looking side plates off of the S33 and put a red and black canopy on it and it would look like a 2.4Ghz S33.

I'm actually trying to get away from the " Syma " look. I have 2 Blades, 1 Yiboo, and the S033g. All have nearly identical Blade canopys on them now. Going for a "uniformish" fleet look. Observe resemblance in the two pics:

While I'm waiting....

While I'm waiting on the Tx board that's in transit........ I'm creating a Syma S107gSR. Yes, I mean single rotor. Mechanicals nearly done, may go to CF tail boom as its just a touch tail heavy at the moment and it needs a slight forward bias to work right. I'm going to use a 2.5 channel Airhogs Helicage IR system to run it (simple SR controls: throttle and tail yaw+trim buttons. Forward movement induced by slight forward CG.
This should be interesting.

Okay..... Dh-9118 Tx board installed, still no left. Changed L/R potentiometer and center trim potentiometer, still no left. Common denominator seemingly eliminated, maybe it's not the Tx. Seems both left and right MOSFETs get initial throttle signal and the heli will hover centered and stable, just not getting left turn signal to speed up top rotor. Bottom rotor speeds up on right turn. This is driving me nuts..... surely both Rx boards can't have same Problem connected to two different batteries and running two different sets of motors.

Now armed with an oscilloscope! Just got mine back that was at a friend's house. Will be tracing all PWM signals later this afternoon.

Not getting anywhere with the DH9118 radio/no left problem. ...... Thinking maybe a Blade CX4 3-in-1 ESC/gyro unit and a $30 Spektrum 4-channel radio and a small 10a car ESC for tail motor. Then I can use my DX4e radio.

Trigger pulled: Cx4 3-in-1 ESC/mixer/gyro unit, 10amp 2-way ESC, 3s li-po, 3s charger.... $40. Gotta love EBay. All I need now is the 4-ch DSM2 Rx which I will get tomorrow. What's to loose? If that don't work..... I'll use the parts to build a plank.

No plank needed. After some trial and error, I arrived upon the right combination of components. Ar400, CX4 3-in-1, 10A car esc for tail motor, 11.1v 20C 1300mAh LiPo, and 2 ProMax 480 motors that are 11.1v capable per fixed Syma gearing.
My "S033m" flies great with a DX4e Tx for 7 minutes per charge and has no power, range or control issues now.
I won't get into specifics of modification process unless asked. There are a few details involved.

Glad to hear that you have it sorted out, I will say that you are persistent, a lot of modelers would have just put it on the shelf. A BIG Thumbs Up

What can I say..... I hate to loose. It's taken a little thought, and some time and money, but in the end it works out very well. There is very little wind this evening, I just came in from a flight with S033m.... I felt gutsy enough to power up to what I estimate was around 150 ft up! Not even a hiccup out of the bird. I couldn't (or wouldn't) have done that before.

Main Blades question-

Does anyone know if there is a Main Blade set that will fit the S033g that has larger blades than the stock S033g blades?

QS8006 .198 (5mm) hole, .128 thickness, length 11.3 inch.
QS8008 .228 hole, .187 thickness, length 15.1 inch
