That really would be a bit boring for most folk and one heck of a lot of work for me. But the engines are as folows:-
0025 is a Vivell 09
0027 is a Delong 5cc Diesel [never went into production]
0130 is on own design twin based on the Sparey 0.8 [which is actually 0.64cc]
0131 is a 1cc Weaver
0232 is a Weaver with all dimensions halved making it 0.125cc
0335 is an AHC diesel [never went into production]
0436 is a Battiwallah
0437 is a MS 1.24
0438 is a 5cc Speed Demon scaled down to 2cc
0439 is a Pepperell 7/16
0640 is a K 4.4
8601 is an own design Mills 3.5cc
8703 is a Sparey "0.8" [actually 0.64cc as designed]
8804 is an own design of 0.15cc
9908 is a Dutch designed Nova
9009 is a David Owen designed 2cc Mate
9314 is a Suzor Etheromane
9515 is a Thaler but I forget the model type
9722 is a Mark Lubbock designed "Midge" of o.8cc
Pa and Son is the full size 1cc Weaver and its 0.125cc pal
I hope this is of interest to some. If anybody wants more info on idividual engines I will see what I can do.

Could anyone confirm this, or identify the design...?

Nova 1 : 4,5cc. diesel, designed by J.v.Leeuwen from Rijswijk Netherlands.
Plan dates from 27th. december 1943 and was published in a Belgium modelers magazine around that time.

I do have a Nova but I do not think it was built at the time, cannot remember the builder's name. It is a very tall engine. Recently did read somewhere that Rijswijk is in Belgium but that town is situated in the Netherlands indeed.

Thanks Krafty. Boring for most folks? Not on this thread, it’s mostly all diesel. That’s why it’s here. Myself, my interests are mostly after 1950, as I can relate to my modeling activities back then, meager as they were then. Small gliders and Comet rubber powered models.

This was posted at a Swedish forum. The displacement is 0.23 cc, and although the engine is said to be a homebuild, (which I beleive it is) there is a stamped serial "02"...

Does anyone recognise this design...?

No that is not a Weaver. The so-called "Weaver" was a 1 cc sideport engine designed by Ramsom and Weaver in the 1952 primarily as an engine for rail track model cars. See scans of the original article.

John, could I politely and everso slightly disagree...
The Quaker Flash and the Flying Quaker have just about the longest nose of all old timer aircraft. Normally you shouldn't need nose weight or even a heavy engine. My own QF has a glow FR Ohlsson .23 in the nose, which is very light, and the RC gear is still evenly spread through the cabin area...
Also, I'm a lifelong diesel lover, but I'd still prefer a gentle four-stroke in a plane like a Quaker.
