You should have lift-off and landing platform... like that but without back part:

Already thought about something like that... But it means two things: I need to be able to land exactly where I want, every time, and, I need to carry a busted stool with me....

Another idea was a handheld 'arrester hook' (ie broomstick with a hook or something)

Has anyone tried this with the gopro 1? They are the same dimensions as the gopro 2 and I'm sure counterbalancing wouldn't be too hard.

Looks good! I dig the 3d printed 3 axis gimbal. Are you going to make that available?

for sure

problem with the 3 axis... theres about 1000 different ways to mount the yaw motor to your multi - ill provide my design fro the gimbal up to the mounting on the yaw motor itself, but from yaw motor to frame your own your own!... for now anyway

ive been spending a bit of time getting the 3 axis uVi to work... that is quite sweet... the follow frame "magestic mode" is very cool.

Thanks for this great gimbal!
I have to ask: will be the ipower 2208/2212 modification finished, or it's abandoned?
I tried to modify the sketch, but I'm not as good at it as ed_jza80

Did this every happen... There was so much activity around this set of parts and now nothing for a number of weeks. The GP3 (which I want) continues to be *in work*, but nothing has been released?

It appears other things more interesting got in the way?

Just curious... I suppose if nothing happens, I'll just move on, but I was so waiting for the promised updates.

Got my gimbal parts on friday and began immediately to assemble Skylight gimbal with Flyduino motors. Motor pcb mod was kind of annoying job, but luckily I didn't brake anything

Took my quad with almost without gimbal tuning to camping trip and I'm very happy for the results. Its not 100% smooth, but a few more hours tuning it should be perfect . Gimbal itself is very nicely balanced oob with my Hero2.

Also need to build some rails under the quad and move gimbal little forward so I get props out of the way…

Thanks Ed for nice gimbal design!

working on it!

so much activity = had a few weeks off from work... now back at work = hobby time greatly diminished!

GP3, 2 axis, i can upload to shapeways tomorrow when im back at home

ipower mods have been temporaily abandoned. LD Power 2208 Motors (generic, not rebadged to flyduino etc) are still readily available without PCB, offer the best value for money, and means i dont have to do a complete redesign

ntthhtl - awesome!

Hey ed_jza, I was wondering if you had the 2-axis and 3-axis files in other formats than .stl and .skp - sounds like you have .dxf maybe? GP2 or 3, doesn't matter. I'd like to see if I can come up with a different camera mount for my Sony. If I come up with anything that works I'll share my files Feel free to PM me.

EDIT - Found the files in this post

Thank you for being so kind to share your work with everyone!
